Shaw Hosted a corporate Chalet Tent at the 26th annual Quad City Airshow. The USAF Thunderbirds were the big names this year in the show line-up. The event ran Saturday Sept 2- Sept 3 but Shaw only had the Chalet for Sunday. The weather was in some people’s opinion, perfect. Shaw has hosted airshows in the past when the sun was beating down and it was close to 100 degrees out, this year the temperatures were mild and the overcast sky kept people from trying to hide underneath the tent.
In attendance there were customer representatives from almost all vendors as well as their families. The tent offered food and drink for all for the few hours that the event went on. With good attendance from customers and also from employees and their families the show was a definite success.
Some would argue the best part of the show happened right after the last plane landed. As it seems to be a tradition at Shaw Electric’s Chalet, someone has to go into the ice tub. As people were moving towards the gate it looked as though no one was going to be so unfortunate this year. When suddenly Bob Shaw Jr. was picked up of his feet and dumped head first into the drink cooler.
All in all, it was a good time for people to mingle and was a stellar show in the air.
